"Lost Property"

About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services

(as a relative),

This posting concerns a young man who was an inpatient in Sligo-Leitrim Mental Health Services through late 2015/early 2016. It was requested by staff that the patient's ipad be brought in to the hospital to be used as part of therapeutic work. Assurances were given that the Ipad would be kept safe while not being used.

When the patient was discharged the Ipad was not among his belongings and our attempts to get clarification from staff regarding what happened to the Ipad have so far not being successful.

Hi M,

Thank you for taking the time to post a story on Patient Opinion, it is important that we hear everything clients, family members and carers have to say about the services we provide.

I am sorry you have had no success as yet in resolving what has become of your young relative's ipad whilst at the inpatient unit in 2015/2016.

May I ask you to email me your contact telephone number so I can speak to you and get a few more details about what happened and over what period and I will endeavour to sort it out. My email address is joy.synnott@hse.ie

I look forward to hearing from you.

Joy
