My mum has been an outpatient in St Lukes Kilkenny. We have made several visits, and found the waiting times once she got the initial appointment were short. Everyone including the x ray, people taking blood and all doctors and nurses were friendly and helpful. She had day surgery in the last couple of weeks and the staff in the day ward could not have been kinder or better.
Special mention should go to a woman cleaner we met who was so friendly on our first visit, we were a bit lost and she was very helpful.
The car parking is odd, it is impossible to drop off a person who is immobile at the door for outpatients and pick them up again without driving against the road markings or leaving the hospital grounds to drive around and back to the entrance. I think that additional thought needs to be put into this system.
Signposting at the outside of the building is poor, at present it is guesswork, cruitally there are few signposts from the new motorway to the hospital, this really should be changed straight away, Kilkenny council please take note.
"Kind and friendly"
