About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Occupational Therapy Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Sligo Leitrim Psychiatry of Later Life

(as a service user),

Had been having Feelings of Sadness and Not In a good Place , following referal by My GP , I was invited to attend  Day Hospital Liscarney House , for support to Help me Cheer up ang get back to where i Should be. I was met By the Team  , Nurses , Occupational Therapist, Doctors + consultant Psychiatrist

Meeting Other Sevice Users and all the Staff Members Helped Me, and Over a period of time I stopped feeling as sad as i was , Forgeting ,in a small way , past sorrows and troubles.

I do not think Liscarney can do much more than they are doing , except perhaps some Gardening Groups and Time outside [ weather permitting ], Walking Groups .

Other Service Users report not been able to park there cars , and often have to park on footpaths, which is not ideal if your mobility is poor .

Dear Recovery, thank you for sharing your experiences of your engagement with the Acute Mental Health Day Hospital at Liscarney House. I am delighted to hear that you found the support and therapeutic interventions helpful in your recovery journey. The multidisciplinary team approach allows different professionals to provide their own specialist input to meet each individual persons specific needs.Thank you for your observations about the outdoor group activities- both gardening and walking groups are part of the Day Hospital activities, but are weather, and season, dependant. Your observations about the lack of parking spaces is something that we have been addressing for some time and I believe the planning application has been made already. I am confident we can look forward to additional parking facilities in the very near future. Once again, thank you for your comments and I wish you well in your recovery. Best wishes, Kevin McLaughlin
