My daughter spent 3 - 4 wks in the approved centre SLMHS (involuntary admission)
I felt there was no help for me to help her on discharge.Pre discharge - The doctor spoke with me by phone and in response to some of my queries he promised I would get a list of medication and instructions on discharge - I didnt.I thought the doctors didnt react well to my questions about aftercare, physical healthcare checks while in hospital - they seemed defensive and uncooperativeDay of Discharge - My daughter was escorted to the reception area by a nurse who hadnt been caring for her and wasnt able to answer my questions about her care. I didnt get the list of medications and instructions I was promised by the doctor.Consequently when my daughter returned home with me with one week supply of medication and no prescription I did not know what medication she should have , when,or how to get further medication.
