"The nurses helped me very much"

About: Donegal Mental Health Services Letterkenny General Hospital

(as a service user),

I’ve been using the services for over 10 years. I do counselling every week and I find that really helps, it’s good to talk to a stranger.

I have been in and out of the hospital and I have tried to take my life. My first time in hospital was an awful experience, they made me feel stupid and worse about myself. I was very afraid the second time going in to the hospital but the second time was different and the nurses were lovely and helped me very much.

Many thanks for posting your experience on Care Opinion, we are glad that you are finding the counselling journey helpful. I am sorry that your first time in hospital was not positive but thankfully you took the chance to try again. Often we find hospital daunting and when in hospital people are feeling at their lowest. There is always help and waiting for the suffering to pass can be hard, well done on trying again - keep with it now. Best wishes going forward.
