"Friendly faces and caring hearts"

About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Crisis Resolution Team

(as a service user),

I had a severe panic/ anxiety attack, which was physically and emotionally overwhelming and scary, lasting for a few days. I visited my GP and he referred me onto to the crisis resolution team.

The crisis team came out to me that evening offering me kindness, support and reassurance not only to me but also my husband. There were follow up visits everyday and we appreciated each visit as they offered practical steps and advice that really helped us both in the crisis.

Friendly faces and caring hearts.

Dear Sarah,

Thank you very much for your post, what a lovely phrase – friendly faces and caring hearts:-) It means a lot to us that you felt this way about our input, it is so important that we connect with one another in a very human way, isn’t it? I am glad that you and your husband felt understood and supported through your mental health crisis, the team and I wish you well on your recovery journey.

Kind regards,

Dr E Gethins
