"Supported for Bipolar through EIP"

About: Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Crisis Resolution Team Sligo/Leitrim Mental Health Services / Early Intervention Youth Mental Health Service

(as a service user),

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder earlier this year. I found out about this diagnosis through the Sligo crisis team. They were extremely helpful and helped me find out who I was with this new diagnosis. I have been seen with the EIP team for the last 3 years and they have been extremely understanding and supportive. Lorena, the key worker, has been great at making me feel welcome and has helped through all my highs and lows. I am now in a stable place and I continue to work with EIP to help keep my mood in check.

Thank you for your story regarding the positive supports you have received from both the Crisis and Recovery Team and the Early Intervention in Psychosis Team. I am pleased to hear that you are doing well and continue to work with the EIP team to maintain your recovery. The aim of both these mental health programs is to offer early interventions to people with mental health difficulties, with the aim of helping people to understand their mental health difficulties and to improve their opportunities for recovery thus allowing them to move on with their lives. Thanks again and best wishes for the future.
